Gas
Plant Operator
At CFOL, Gas Plant
Operators play a key role in monitoring
the daily operations of the oil and gas wells,
gas compressors, and related equipment. More
specifically, a Gas Plant Operator may be responsible
for performing the following functions:
- Monitor equipment functioning,
observe temperature, level, and flow gauges,
and perform regular unit checks, in order
to ensure that all equipment is operating
properly.
- Make adjustments to
maintain processes at required levels or to
correct problems.
- Read charts, record
gauge readings, and forward data to the office.
- Monitor accuracy of
bookwork.
- Clean, maintain, and
repair equipment.
- Monitor and assist contractors
working on site.
- Coordinate activities
with the department manager and other department
staff.
Gas Plant Operators generally
require a High School diploma or equivalent
and direct field experience has been considered
an asset. Knowledge of related machines and
tools, chemical compositions and processes,
engineering and production processes, and mathematics
is required. Gas Plant Operators must also be
skilled in achieving results, analysis, problem
solving, decision making, adaptability, stress
management, communication, creativity, innovation,
and showing initiative.
A Gas Plant Operator in
this role works closely with other team members
in the field and in the office. A Gas Plant
Operator is required to be on-call and attend
to emergencies that occur outside of regular
office hours. |
